The Head Counselor position is a paid position at Camp Ahava. Each bunk has one Head Counselor assigned to it and Head Counselors are at least high school graduates while many are college students or have completed college. Head Counselors are responsible for implementing the camp schedule in an effective manner and for organizing their campers for daily activities.
Head Counselors also serve as a mentor to the Assistant Counselors.
Head Counselors are mature adults who have displayed leadership and proficiency in working with the campers.
Head Counselors may also elect to participate in Early and After Care or run a specialty area.
Head Counselors are required to attend weekly staff meetings after camp. Salary information upon request.
